Thursday of this week I stopped by the Hungarian consulate in Mexico City to leave my citizenship application. My father is of German-Hungarian origin and current naturalization rules in Hungary allow the descendants of a Hungarian ancestor to claim Hungarian citizenship. The best part is no knowledge of Hungarian is required.
I am a language lover but the thought of tackling Hungarian, recognized as one of the worlds most difficult to learn, doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve learned a few accelerated language learning tricks over the years but in the end if the motivation isn’t there, it just isn’t happening.
The citizenship process takes a few months but if all goes through smoothly (with bureaucracy you just never know) I’ll have the ability to live and access the EU markets and explore investment opportunities. There are other interesting ramifications but I will leave that for another time.
Every Friday I share one lifestyle design idea, something I am reading, something that inspired me, and one question for my readers.
Ready for this week’s edition? Vamos…
One Lifestyle Design Idea From Me
Money is a game.
Thinking about money as a game might awaken in you the same competitive spirit you displayed when you learned the rules of a new game that caught your attention.
Most play the money game on beginner level settings i.e. trade time for money with the hope that one day a retirement or pension plan will take care of them in their golden years.
But then you meet someone playing your favorite game at a level you immediately recognize as advanced. It’s a rearranging of game elements in a way you never imagined but once shown how it works you are the better player for it. Like deftly handling a Rubik’s cube with the specific knowledge of the sequence and patterns used to solve it.
What I Am Reading
The Wealth Hoarders: How Billionaires Pay Millions to Hide Trillions by Chuck Collins. I am fascinated by the elaborate games the wealthy play to hide and grow their massive wealth. Not only are the wealthy aware of the finer rules of the game they are often paying lawyers and rule makers to bend the rules in their favor.
One Thing That Inspired Me
Clarity is the elimination of mental clutter
Agility is the elimination of physical clutter
Tranquility is the elimination of spiritual clutter
One Question For My Readers
How can I make room for one thing I want in my life by eliminating one or two things that no longer serve me?
If you found value here it would mean a lot to me if you can share it with someone.
Any comments, questions, or thoughts from you the reader are always welcomed.
Until Next Week. Happy week ahead!
