The Cost of Ego
Personal Logic and Scripts, Combative v. Collaborative Relationships, Chasing Prestige, Trip to Sicily, Attracting Abundance
Happy Friday and a big welcome to all new subscribers, thanks for subscribing.
Here is your weekly dose of Wealth Beyond Money Top 5 things on my mind.
1) One Wealth Beyond Money Idea
Ego can be expensive. Consider the cost.
Just because something doesn’t have a price tag doesn’t mean it comes without a cost. I’ve spent the last few months doing a deep dive reading and observing components of self like status, worth, prestige, ego, and esteem.
Egolessness is unrealistic because a healthy sense of ego serves a purpose. Ego functions like a personal religion or logic we might cling to in order to preserve a sense of safety and familiarity. To use software language: ego is a script we write and execute.
Sometimes being right and consistent with our personal script (forgetting there is no one way or right way) comes at a cost to being happy and fulfilled.
Being right is about ego.
Being happy and fulfilled is about results and what actually works. Keep editing your peronal script until you manifest the best version of your life.
A second way ego can be expensive is the friction it causes in your relationships. A diseased ego (i.e. an ego not at ease) can come across as combative, competitive, or supplicative in an effort for attention, acceptance, and approval.
An ego at ease comes across as collaborative and cooperative. No doubt you would agree working in relationships that are collobrative and cooperative will produce greater win win outcomes than relationships with unhealed egos requiring constant energy and attention.

3) One Thing I’m Exploring
After nearly two years of living and traveling in Mexico, the explorer in me is itching to see the world again so I’m planning a trip to Sicily this summer.
Bought my flight to the capital city Palermo with the plan to spend a few days exploring the island on my first trip there. Italy is one of my favorite countries and Sicily has an amazing history with Greek, Roman, Arab, and Spanish coming through the island over the last three thousand years. And the food 😋
If anyone has been and can share recommendations or introductions please let me know.
4) One Quote
A healthy sense of self esteem is a magnet that attracts abundance to you
5) One Question For You to Consider
Do my current beliefs about self leave me feeling at ease and abundant?
